Recipe: Nutmeg-Glazed Almonds

Yields about 2.5 cups
- 2 cups almonds
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Preheat oven to 300 F.
- When the oven is heated, turn it off and place the almonds on a baking sheet.
- Melt the sugar in a heavy bottomed skillet over medium-high heat. Stir constantly until the sugar is a golen brown syrup (about 10 minutes).
- Remove from heat. Quickly stir in nutmeg and salt. Pour quickly over warm nuts.
- Allow to cool.
- It will harden into a sheet. Break into pieces and store in an airtight container.
